Day Offers Thoughts on Governor’s Budget Outline
HARRISBURG – Rep. Gary Day (R-Lehigh/Berks), a member of the House Appropriations Committee, today offered his thoughts following Gov. Tom Corbett’s budget proposal, which was presented to a joint session of the Pennsylvania House and Senate:

“With the governor’s budget address, step one of the 2013-14 budget process has begun. Due to the nature of the months-long process, he doesn’t have the benefit of relying on actual revenue numbers for the rest of this fiscal year or next year, so he must rely on economic forecasts and trends in revenue.

“As a member of the House Appropriations Committee, I will be an active participant in the budget hearings over the coming weeks and examine every detail of the proposal. Once the hearings are completed, we will work to craft a budget that will serve the people of the 187th District and our region of Berks and Lehigh counties. This budget is a blueprint that will be amended to reflect the needs of all Pennsylvanians.”
